"PERSEVERANCE AND PRAYER"

One day a devout Christian whose name was George Mueller began praying for five of his friends.  After a number of months, one of them accepted Christ as Lord.  Ten years later, two more, of the five that he had been praying for, came to Christ.   It took 25 years before the fourth out of the five finally came to Christ, but he did.  Mr. Mueller persevered in prayer until his death, for the fifth person to experience salvation.  What is interesting is that for 52 years he prayed and never gave up hope that the fifth one would finally receive Christ as his savior.  Mr. Mueller’s faith was finally rewarded, for it was not long after his death and burial, that the fifth person finally accepted Christ as savior of his life!

Through prayer we can persevere and see our hopes and dreams come true, as George Mueller did.  Therefore, let me encourage you to persevere and at the same time never stop praying.  It does not matter how long it will take, through prayer and perseverance you will see your hope and dreams fulfilled.

Heavenly Father we thank you for all of the kindness that you have shown us. Often time we feel that things are not working out for us because we do not see certain result at a particular time.  Nevertheless, we know that if we continue to ‘persevere in prayer’ and ‘pray as we persevere’, that we will get stronger and our hopes and dreams will come true.  Therefore, we pray that you keep us focused and give us the strength to continue to do these things, until we reach our goals, in Jesus name. Amen.
