Again, to persevere is to continue a particular course of action without discontentment. And again, it is one of the keys to success, according to the bible. It is important to understand, however, that often times, in order for us to persevere we must have and use faith. In other words, in order for us to persevere and overcome tremendous challenges in life, we must exercise faith in God and faith in the abilities that He has given us.
Some of America’s most beloved icons have had to pair their faith with perseverance in order to experience the success that they had. For example, a memo from a testing director of MGM, shortly after Fred Astaire had his first screen test read:”Can’t act! Slightly bald! Can dance a little!” In fact, another person who was considered an expert of his era once said of Vince Lombardi: “He possesses minimal football knowledge. Lacks motivation.” Yet, because these men had faith in their God given ability to do well they persevered and became legendary figures.
Let me encourage you to pair your faith with perseverance, like Fred Astaire, Vince Lombardi and countless others, who have been told that they did not have (what it takes) to succeed. Then go on to do the great thing that God has gifted you to do.

Heavenly Father we thank you for all of the gifts and talents that you have given us. We pray however that you encourage and strengthen us to exercise the faith and perseverance that we need to overcome doubt and other obstacles that we must confront in life, that we may experience success, in Jesus name. Amen.
