"DONT PARALYZE THE PROMISE!"

Today’s Scripture

“If thou will not hearken to the voice of the Lord” (Deut. 28:15)
Today's Word

A promise is a declaration that something will or will not be done.  It is important to understand that promises can be made with or without contingencies.  This means that some promises are going to materialize no matter what, but it also means that some will materialize only if certain things are done in advance of the promise.  We must realize that God makes promises without contingencies, as well as, promises with contingencies.  If God says that he is going to do something for you, without a doubt he will do it, because he keeps his promises.

That said, the bible tells us that God told Moses that he would lead the nation of Israel out of Egypt and into a land that flowed with milk and honey, (Exodus 3).  God then told Moses that he would use him as a leader to help him fulfill this promise.  Initially Moses was reluctant, but he eventually overcame his issues with the plan and went along with God’s program.  After this, God went about performing many miracles in Egypt to carryout one part of his promise.  After the Israelites made it out of Egypt and through the wilderness, they then needed to exercise faith in God and his promise, to cross over the Jordan River and begin to see the final part of the promise fulfilled.  Unfortunately only two Israelites met the requirements and were able to experience the fulfillment of the promise.  Unfortunately, all the other Israelites did not.  They paralyzed the promise for themselves, because they fell short of meeting what was required of them.  It is important to understand that a good start does not necessarily mean a good finish.

If God makes a promise to you with contingencies, and you intend to see the promise materialize in your life, you must carryout that which he has required of you from the beginning to the end.  Again, failure to do so will paralyze the promise.  So let me encourage you to get a clear understanding of those promises that God has made to you with contingencies, as well as, those without them; that you may carry out what is necessary to experience all the blessings he has in store for you.

Today's Prayer

Heavenly Father you are a giver of many good and perfect gifts and for all of them we give you thanks. There are many promises that you have established for us that we have not yet received. We know that according to the bible that your burdens or demands of us are light, (Mat. 11: 30). Therefore, our prayer is that you help us through your wisdom to not only, know what you have promised us, but to also help us through your strength to fulfill our part. This we ask that we may not paralyze your promises to us, but instead receive them all and enjoy them all, in Jesus name. Amen.
