My mom had 4 congested heart failures over a period of years starting at the age of 28. She had a C-section when she delivered me and then when she had my baby sister 4 years later she had a vaginal delivery instead of another C-section. During the delivery she had a lot of stress and strain on her heart as well as a virus that attacked her heart and she developed a heart disease called Post Partum Cardiomiopathy. The dr.  informed her that her heart was only functioning at 5-8% out of 100% and it had enlarged tremendously. If you would’ve met her you would’ve never known. She was still up and out shopping everyday and doing everything as you and I with the exception of getting short winded and calamity at times. At the age of 35 she was told that her heart was very weak and wouldn't last very long. They also explained that she needed a heart transplant and she only had 6 months to a year to live. After being thoroughly evaluated she was approved to be on the donor's list. Not that long after being on the list she received a page in the middle of the night and it was time to go to the hospital. She didn't say much on the ride over there because she began to think about the possibility of her having to leave her children, grandchildren, mother and husband. She began to pray some more, and while she was lying on the table being prepped for surgery she stated she heard a voice that said "Just put it in God's hands." And she did. It was like a peace that came over her and she kissed her family and was taken off to surgery. That day on August 16, 1990 she came out of a SUCCESSFUL SURGERY. Once the dr. ran test on her old heart they came to the conclusion that she didn't have 6 months to a year to live she had less than a 6 month timeframe. My mom was the first black woman in this region to have a heart transplant, she only waited 28 days for a heart and it took 2 weeks for a full recovery. The NATURAL ODDS were against her because her heart had enlarged so much that it stretched the heart cavity and the dr.  didn't think they would find a donor in time. Also due to the lung disease called Sarcoidosis she has, it was a blessing to even make the donor's list. But the SPIRITUAL ODDS were in her favor because we were told that life expectancy after the transplant was only 3 to 5 years for her and on August 16, 2010 it will be 20 years that she has been living and if you see her right now you wouldn't know unless she told you. God has a plan for ALL OF US. God's promise to us is "BY HIS STRIPES YE ARE HEALED" So if you are experiencing a similar situation or have been diagnosed with a life threatening disease my question to you today is WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE?  AS FOR ME I BELIEVE THE REPORT OF THE LORD!!!!!!
