Pastor Darrin and Annette PhelpsWHAT ARE WE ABOUT -
DAP Ministries (Darrin /Annette Phelps Ministries) is a word based, Bible teaching ministry. We believe that God is an approachable, practical, Divine Being who desires to have personal relational with mankind. Thus, the messages that are delivered and the lessons that are taught at St. James (DAP Ministries) reflect Word based principles of how God the Father through Jesus Christ desires us to experience abundance in every area of our life: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially and socially.

We believe in the Immaculate Conception of Jesus Christ the Anointed One, born of the Virgin Mary. The basis of our salvation is that Jesus died on Calvary’s cross as our Chief Substitute, bearing the punishment of our sins while in the flesh, Romans 5:6-12. The following information highlights the core teachings of our church and are coupled with scriptural references for support.

• SALVATION – There is salvation (deliverance from all evil: sin, sickness, poverty, death, hell and destruction) through belief in Jesus Christ only! Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, John 14:6, 3:16. Salvation is available to all, every man, woman, child, race, gender, culture, and ethnic group, Galatians 3:28. God has no respect of persons (does not favor or show bias towards one particular group), Romans 2:11.

• ON BECOMING A CHRISTIAN – One can become a Christian as he repents (shows sincere sorrow and a change of attitude towards) of his wrong doings towards God. He must then confess with his mouth and believe in his heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead and that through acceptance of Christ’s atoning work on the cross one’s sins are forgiven and he is made righteous, Romans 10: 9-13, Psalms 51.

Water Baptism• WATER BAPTISM - Baptism is a necessary element that must accompany our initial confession and belief in Christ, Mathew 28:19, Acts 2:38.

• BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT - The infilling of the Holy Spirit is an added benefit of our Christian faith that empowers us to triumph over the enemy, effectively utilize the anointing and live in intimate fellowship with the Lord, Mathew3:11, John 14:26, Acts 1:8.

• GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT - There are various gifts and operations of the Holy Spirit within the believer. These gifts are for our profit and help build up the body of Christ, 1Corinthians 12.

• HOLY LIVING - The Christian walk is a separated and holy walk. We live in this world and interact with others but our lives should illustrate the difference that Jesus makes within us. Our conversations, dress, attitudes and behaviors should reflect the teachings of the word of God, Ephesians 4:1-2, 17-32; Ephesians 5 and 6; Romans 8; 1 Peter 1:15, 16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; Hebrews 12:14.

PrayerTHE ANOINTING - The anointing in us works by the Holy Spirit and is literally a divine enabling that can literally operate in and on us to make us victorious and successful in all of our actions. The anointing in us destroys every satanic stronghold that comes up against us, Isaiah 10:27. To anoint also means to appoint and set-aside for special use. In the Old Testament, kings/ rulers and others were anointed by the laying on of hands. Olive oil was rubbed or smeared into their skin to denote this special appointment. When one sees us applying olive oil, this represents the “Anointing” that we are receiving into our lives for empowerment.

• PRAISE AND WORSHIP - Praise means to acclaim, to boast of, to glory in, to give thanks, and to confess. Hebrew translations of “to worship” mean to bow down or to prostrate oneself out of respect, to serve. Worship also means the serving of God in heart and by life, Philippians 3:3, Romans 1:9. Psalms 147:1 says, “Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.”
